About Georgi Gochis, RCST, ICNMT, MLDT, STR, Ph.D candidate
Georgi graduated from Michigan State University and did post graduate work at both Michigan State University and the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. She was a school administrator and teacher before training as a therapist in 2000.
Georgi is a Registered Craniosacral Therapist having studied the Osteopathic model at The School of Inner Health. She has been practicing since September of 2003. She has developed Aquatic Craniosacral Therapy as a result of her research in the Amplification Effects of Craniosacral Therapy in Water. Her research was presented at the National Craniosacral Convention held in Boulder, Colorado 2003. She has continued with The School of Inner Health, adding Biodynamic Lymphatic Therapy. She has also become Internationally Certified Neuromuscular Massage Therapist.
In 2009, she became Certified as Somatic Trauma Resolution Therapist studying with Sharon Porter, Director of Health Wave Institute. In January of 2013, she became certified as a Somatic Trauma Resolution Teacher by Health Wave Institute, which was Colorado State Board of Education Secondary Education Certified. Georgi added Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, (EMDR) a somatic therapy in 2016 achieving certification by the The EMDR Institute, EMDRIA, and John Hartung, PsyD. The addition of EMDR training was inspired by her work assisting her clients in their trauma resolution journey.
Georgi has been the Team Massage Therapist for the Sky Sox Baseball Team of Colorado Springs from 2004-2006. She has been on the medical team for three international figure skating competitions held at the World Arena in Colorado Springs caring for Olympic level athletes. She worked full time in the physical therapy model for three years using Biodynamic Craniosacral and Lymphatic Therapies to reduce pain and inflammation for Orthopedic postoperative rehabilitation, concussion therapy and a many other injuries presented needing care.
Georgi is the owner of Manitou Wellness Center since 2003. She treats 20 to 30 clients a week as part of individual master treatment plans. Craniosacral, Somatic Trauma Resolution and Biodynamic Lymphatic Therapy are her tools for a variety of client needs. She helps people of all ages.
She works with babies who have experience birth trauma and may be having difficulties nursing. Children teething, recovering from lip or tongue tie surgery, orthodontia have received Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy for pain management and realignment of jaw and facial bones. Teenagers and adults with head injuries, headaches, and trauma both physical and/or emotional are also seen.
She is motivated to bring Craniosacral Therapy, Somatic Trauma Resolution and EMDR to the awareness of the Medical profession as additional and effective tools to be used with traditional treatment protocols. She works in tandem with the Psychology community moving their clients through breakthroughs and to a return of body awareness resourced and ready to move forward in their psychotherapy.
In 2013, Georgi was asked to join inaugural graduating class of Manitou Yoga as a yoga instructor and became a Certified Yoga Alliance Teacher. She developed the Brain Science of Yoga to help yoga teachers understand the regulating qualities of yoga and its influence on the Autonomic Nervous System. Her yoga practice has matured into a movement sensitive approach to resolving trauma bound energy in the body.
Just for fun, Georgi officiates weddings for local couples. She tells the story of their romance and tailors the ceremony to the uniqueness of their heart’s desire.
Georgi is currently pursuing a PhD. in Natural Medicine at Quantum University of Integrative Medicine.
